Bollin Valley

The River Bollin rises in the Pennine Foothills, flows swiftly down to Macclesfield before cutting a meandering course northwards through Prestbury, Wilmslow and Bowdon eventually running into Manchester ship canal 30 miles from it's source. There are signposted walks and the Partnership runs an events program throughout the year. For a set of map leaflets showing the Bollin Valley Way, linked routes and attractions please visit the Bollin Valley Partnership Web Site www.bollinvalley.org.uk/Leaflets. The River Bollin forms the southern boundary of Trafford and in dunham it's possible to link up with the Bridgewater Way and the Trans Pennine Trail to make up a variety of different walks.
