Ashworth and Roch Valleys

Spectacular views are available in the wooded river valleys and hillside areas around the Ashworth Valley. The River Roch runs past Queen's Park in Heywood, and the rugged upland countryside of the Ashworth Valley is a short distance away. The 'Rivers & Ruins Walk' leaflet is available from Rochdale Tourist Information Centre and the Manchester's Countryside website. This 3-mile walk takes you past the ruins of the area's early industries.
