Haigh Hall and Country Park

Set in 350 acres of wood and parkland, Haigh Country Park is an ideal place for a family day out. Facilities include a play area, miniature railway, mini golf, craft gallery, information centre, gift shop and cafeteria. The 18 hole golf course is probably one of the most scenic and challenging courses in the area.

The playground caters for children of all ages with swings, ladybird rides, a bouny castle and a slide - surrounded by seats for parents and guardians. A fun game of Crazy Golf is available for all of the family featuring 18 holes of twists, turns, humps and hollows. Open between Easter and September (weekends) and school holidays.

The 15" Gauge Railway takes you on an interesting and scenic ride around the woodlands past the walled gardens and Swan Pond. Open Easter-September (weekends), school holidays, and September-Easter (Sundays - weather permitting 1.00pm-4.00pm

Car Parking
There are two large car parks with room for over 1,000 cars within easy distance of all the facilities. Haigh Hall has disabled parking facilities and a drop-off point. Coaches are welcome.

Public Transport Directions

From: Directions: Buses and Wigan Wallgate and North Western Train Station.
Take A49 Northbound from Wigan Town Centre and follow for approximately 2 mile to the Boars Head pub, at roundabout take A5106 Chorley Road and then Red Rock Lane to the park entrance.

Road Directions

From: M6, J27, 3 miles (4.8 km) Directions: M6, J27; follow A5209 to Standish and B5239 to Haigh. M61, J6; follow B5239 to Aspull and the park is signposted off this road.
