Leesbrook Nature Park

Leesbrook Nature Park is at the heart of the Medlock Valley and is a haven for wildlife.

The park follows the River Medlock valley and has different sites (including Constantine Street, Bank Top, Breeze Hill and Holts). Each site has its own character from wooded valleys to meadows with views of the Pennines.

Great for walking, cycling and horse riding, you can watch wildlife, go pond dipping, have a picnic and experience the new adventure play area (aimed at 6-14 year olds).

There's a well signed network of bridleways across the park, including the flat, off-road Medlock Valley route perfect for cycling with the kids. As you discover a series of natural play features along the route, including rock stacks, a cycle skills area, log bridges, natural climbing features, and a story trail based on the book “We’re going on a bear hunt” where you’ll even find a bear hiding in the woods!
